If you have been playing around with Augmented Reality applications, then you have certainly come across Layar.

I enjoy playing around with different APIs, and the Layar API gives you basic control over the colors and icons in your layer. I checked out the Custom circular info widgets documentation to figure out the best way to handle the CIWs. Layar has some nice best practices listed, but sadly, there was no Photoshop template to speed things along.

I decided to make a Layar custom info widget Photoshop template (zipped .PSD) for myself, and am posting it in case anyone else might find it helpful.

Within the file, guidelines are at the 55×55, 38×38 and 28×28 sizes. The squares are the recommended sizes from the documentation for the inner, middle and outer ring sizes. Note: you will have to zoom pretty far in to see the boxes properly, but you were probably going to do that anyway…

I hope this helps someone out. I always like having a comprehensive template to stay somewhat organized.

A new version of All I Ate Today for Facebook was released today at http://apps.facebook.com/alliatetoday

The new version posts meals entered into the system to the Facebook user’s activity stream. This allows their friends on Facebook to easily comment on what they ate.

It turned out pretty good and the groundwork has been laid to possibly add some new features in the future.

I also updated the original http://alliatetoday.com last week to be a little more stable. So far it seems to work well.

You can follow the meals people post there on Twitter at: http://twitter.com/alliatetoday

This means I get to attend the Battle at the Berrics 2 final in-person between Chris Cole and P-rod in Los Angeles this weekend.

Also, as an added bonus, I get to bring a friend and we both get to skate at The Berrics as well. It should be a ton of fun. My compatriot will be my good friend Taylor Brown, who totally rips, and we are both stoked to represent Mustache Skateboards and the skate culture of central Texas as best we can.

Hopefully we will come back with some photos or videos or even stone tablets to document how it all goes down. I am pumped to eat at the In-N-Out Burger.
